Dave,

I used to build them out of TV twinlead  .. which pre-determined the 
spacing.  Since that is 300 ohm, you would likely need a balun of some 
sort to feed it (or make a transformer from the twinlead).

You might check an antenna book or Cebik's site for definitive info.
