Per the manual (& above) I would simply toggle between 'TEST' & 'OPER' which
is otherwise the normal function. If I 'tapped' the VOX button I would
simply switch modes (i.e. u,l,c) which is also normal. Hmmm...

Then realized I was attempting this while in CW mode ('c'). The thing that
is now obvious (in retrospect) is you MUST be in a upper/lower SSB mode for
it to work. Once I changed modes (to 'u' or 'l') I am able to see the
revison of my KSB2 firmware (1.04).
