Good question for Wayne, since he designed them both.  I would expect RX 
performance to be similar -- but the K1 could have the edge as a newer 
design.  The K1 does have variable selectivity.

The Sierra gives you more band choices -- if you like winding toroids :-)

I far prefer the K1 and sold my Sierra some time ago.  Reasons are:

o More audio
o Built in ATU
o Noise blanker
o More power on TX (menu selectable and over 5 Watts on all four bands)
o Menu system to program a number of features
o Smaller size
