Sounds like your DXDoubler may be doing the inversion, so you many not
need the NPN to key the K2, only the diodes.
You'll know when you hook up the diodes and key the radio -- if it is
correct polarity, you'll hear normal CW. If the polarity is negative,
you'll hear a steady carrier interrupted by what should be dots and
dashes.
