[Elecraft] KX1 S/N 307 Up & Running

Just a note of thanks to those who responded to my request for help last =
week. My inop receiver was isolated to the RX BFO not oscillating as =
verified by not being able to hear the oscillator in the station =
receiver. Fault isolating didn't show any problems with any of the =
components in the BFO circuit except a slight flaking around one lead of =
C13 where it had been pulled down tight against the board but I really =
thought that was superficial. In working with Gary Surrency, the belief =
was U5 must be bad but I requested a replacement C13 in addition just in =
case. I replaced C13 first and sure enough, that was the bad guy. The =
audio came on so loud it nearly blasted my ears out. I completed the =
installation of the 30 meter module and the KXAT1 and all checks out =
fine. Many thanks to Gary and the Elecraft team for making a real =
engineering marvel that fits together like a large hand in a small glove =
that the average guy like me can put together and make work. I'm looking =
forward to a lot of enjoyment with this rig.
