The secret of parallel dipoles is to keep some separation between the
ends. If you are hanging them all in the same plane (i.e., from two
supports), you can allow the last couple of feet of each dipole hang
straight down, for example. Using ribbon cable without separtating the
ends is not good.
If you want to tune them, tune the longest one first, since the short
ones are affected more by the long ones than vice versa. And, although
this doesn't apply to the KX1, I should mention that if you have a
40-meter dipole you should not also add a 15-meter one (the 40m antenna
will also show a low impedance on 15).
