[Elecraft] Xtal change in K1

Hi all,
         Not having any projects on line at present, my thoughts turned to
how I might productively use the 14 xtals I had left over from making the
xtal change in the K2, when the K1 came to mind.
Would changing the xtals in the K1 be of any great advantage?...only one way
to find out, so the iron was fired up, and xtals 1 - 6 were removed, and
replaced with a set I had removed from my SSB module.I also grounded the
xtals low on the cans instead of the tops.
The original xtals were marked E C D  D  4.91-0195  and the "new" ones were
ECS V 4.91-0195.
I had taken "before" and "after" plots on a Spectrograph program I use here
(PlotSpec by Gary Bold ZL1AN) and the ones taken "after", showed only a
slight improvement in the slope of the filters and a bit better shape
factor.
I had to (of course) re-align the radio after the change and while the
K1 is certainly working fine but I have to wonder if the work was worth it?
Well......it filled in an afternoon, and sending this might inspire/negate
others at experimenting.
Anyway. Reading the Elecraft Reflector over this last year has been
interesting,
and I for one have learned from the wisdom of others...which is what a
reflector like this is all about.
