Finally got started on this yesterday, and finished the "basic" KX1 today. 
Will build the ATU and 30M option tomorrow.

First impressions. I was afraid the audio might be weak, as some have said, 
but seems OK, even with cheap RS headphones. Power out was 4.5 watts on 40M 
and 4.0 on 20M. (I installed a 33 ohm resistor at R30 right away.).

Sensitivity seems very good on 40M. Down a little on 20, but can copy everyone 
OK. Seems like the 20M "B" cap has a very broad peak.

Neat little rig. First QSO was with a G3 on 20M. I REALLY like the switchable 
tuning rate.
