[Elecraft] KDSP2 Development Software Question

Hi:
 
I just assembled the KK7P/TAPR KDSP-10 Interface Kit (also bought a
spare DSPx board). I am playing with the software and I have hit a small
snag. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.
 
I was able to successfully assemble, link, split, and load the monitor
program for the DSPx. I had one linker error message that appeared and
that I was unable to get rid of. The message was: [Unable to open error
string file "lnk_errs.str"]. Yet the modules still linked and the
splitter module processed the file for loading. The EZFAST loader loads
it without problems and it executes.
 
The lnk_errs.str file is in C:\adi_dsp\21xx\etc and the path command
indicates that this path is included (other str files are there too).
 
Anyway, I am trying to assemble the KDSP2 version 3.18 file as the next
level "up" prior to experimentation.
This error evidently stops the linker as no exe file is built to allow
the splitter to work.
 
I have tried renaming the file to all upper case letters (all the other
str file names are all uppercase). I copied it into the root project
directory. I am stumped.
 
Is this some sort of hard coded path built into the linker module(with
certain letters in Upper/Lower Case)????
 
Anybody got any ideas?
