[Elecraft] K2 SSB Improvements?

In reviewing the mods listed on LA3ZA's web site, I note that there are 4
separate mods of the KSB2 related to improving the transmitted audio for contest
use. Specifically, there is the (1) "increased compression ratios" mod by
G3RXQ for the speech processor, the (2) "higher microphone sensitivity" mod, and
the (3) "KSB2 Increased Gain Modification" & (4) "KSB2 Reduced Intermodulation
Distortion Modification" (both part of the "Improving the Performance of the
KSB2" by KI6WX).

Has anyone performed all of these mods on a single K2? If so, could you
share your results.

Regarding the higher mic sensitivity mod. In my case, I am using a Heil Pro
Set with HC4 element for SSB contesting. I have changed KSB2 part R14 to 4.7K
(it was the largest value less than 10K that was in stock at the local Radio
Shack when I visited the store). In my recent ARRL 10 Meter Contest effort, I
noted a lack of "punch" in breaking pileups and maintaining the VOX between
syllables. I plan to increase the value of R14 to 5.6K or more. In fact, a
little miniature 10K trim-pot may be in order (anyone tried that yet?) I am
visualizing a piece of perfboard hot-melt-glued to the tops of C31, C34, C14 &
C20 with the pot mounted on top of the board and the wires inserted into the R14
holes from the top of the KSB2 board.

Regarding the speech compressor ratio mods. Instead of performing the mod
like G3RXQ, how about just disconnecting pin 5 of RP5, and adding a 1M or 500K
trim-pot (this could be added to the same perfboard noted above)? That way you
could adjust the amount of compression when COMP4 is selected.

Regarding the two KI6WX mods. It seems that these mods will be especially
helpful on 10 Meters. However, is it a good idea to combine these mods with the
"higher microphone sensitivity" mod?

I will have some free time over the Holidays and wanted to do some mods, so I
await your thoughts.
