Interesting Kevin!=20

Back in the 1950's as the Hobby grew rapidly here in the USA with the
economic boom following WWII and the advent of the Novice license, there =
was
a lot of talk about whether it should be legal for anyone to offer
"pre-built" Amateur Radio Equipment for sale as a business. After all, =
some
argued, Amateurs were not supposed to operate for pecuniary interest. =
That
issue some dedicated supporters before it was made clear to all that the
requirement not to work for pay was limited to on-the-air activities =
only!=20

I mention it to illustrate just how much many Ham's attitudes toward
"pre-built" equipment has changed over the years.=20

How many of us have built a piece of amateur radio gear in the last =
year?

Here is what the current survey on the ARRL web site has to say...
 Less than a year    	37.7 % (1043)
 1 to 5 years  	21.7 % (600)
 6 to 10 years	8.7 % (240)
 11 to 20 years	14.2 % (392)
 Never		17.7 % (490)

 Total votes: 2765

If we all voted in this survey it would be wildly skewed in the 5 year =
or
less categories. =20

I think Wayne and Eric have a bunch more kits to sell :)
