[Elecraft] Encoder Noise (After Running CAL PLL)?

Hello, all, and Happy Holidays!  I've searched through the archives and found a thread which suggested that running CAL PLL will clear out encoder noise after a V2.0 firmware upgrade.  I've done that with my rig (SN 1779) yet the problem persists.  I've noticed it on more than one band, but only in a couple of places (it's not splattering the receiver every 5 kHz or anything like that).  It's a definite zipper noise which will obliterate a signal, if there is one there.
 
Any thoughts on what to look for next, oh wisened troubleshooters?
