[Elecraft] any XG1 kits out there?

Hi

I have not received my XG1 yet either. When I get it built I will =
measure the output on the spectrum analyzer. I am surprised that =
shielding is not required at the output levels the XG1 provides

My N-Gen produces 3 bars with the fourth bar flickering with the preamp =
off on my K2 at 40 meters.=20

When I built my N-Gen I could not get an output. It turned out the zener =
would not make any noise so I used the emitter-base junction of a 2n3904 =
in place of the zener and it works fine now. The noise generator I =
kitted and sold several hundred of, based on Tom Hammonds design, has =
much more output. It will drive the K2 to S9+40 but it rolls off at =
higher frequencies. The N-Gen is very flat out past 500 MHz and the =
lower output is fine for filter alignment. The lower output is also =
useful for signal injection troubleshooting and peaking the bandpass =
filters.

I meet the mailman at the door everyday --- so far, no XG1
  :-(
BUT.... as soon as I've built it, I'll let you know!

Have you any numbers on using the XG1 with the K2 or KX1 for
  comparison purposes??

With the pre-amp 'off' the N-gen only gives me 3 bars on 40M
  with my K2 ......
