I think it's pretty funny that only 6 months ago we were all singing the
praises for the K1 in backpack applications.  Let's get real here, the K1
is not much of a burden in the pack.  Although it doesn't sound like much,
3 watts from the K1 is a HUGE difference over the KX1's one-watt.  More
often than not, it's worth the extra bulk.

Yea, OK, my KX1 has gained a seat in my backpack and yea, my K1 doesn't get
the attention it used to but the K1 is (still) an extremely capable
BACKPACKing rig.  Come next year's Flight of the Bumblebees I bet the K1
gets tagged for the duty.

The KX1 is more like the really hot looking younger sister to the K1.  The
KX1 is a burger and fries date--the K1 is opera/fine dining/expensive
bottle of wine date.  That's how I view it in my twisted mind anyway...
