[Elecraft] RE:Panavise Recommendations

I bought the Panavise Combo Unit:

It has the circuit board gripping jaws, a weighted base with parts =
trays, a solder roll holder and a solder iron holder.

It is a great unit (available thourgh Digikey or Mouser, I believe), =
but....

Initially, with an un-populated board, the jaws hold fine.  But when you =
install the 2-D fasteners, the jaws don't grip well anymore as they hit =
the fasteners.  It works, but not like a bare board.

I think if I had to do it again, I'd buy the same thing I did but I'd =
also purchase the rubber-covered vise grips to use with an =
irregular-edge circuit board.

I like the weighted-base as I can move it wherever I want.  My mag-lite =
is also a weighted base, very convenient.
