Rich,
Get the easiest and most obvious things out of the way first---
Have you aligned the USB and LSB BFOs so that the OP1 filter passband
corners are inside 300 and 2300 Hz? Or are you still using the BFO setting
as suggested in the KSB2 instructions.
The filter alignment will make a BIG difference. If you have questions
about how to really do a CAL PLL, refer to the K2 Dial Calibration article
on my website www.qsl.net/w3fpr - Step 3 deals with the procedures to use
when doing CAL PLL.
If you have the filters set correctly already and still have trouble,
recheck the audio input paths by following the schematics for the K2 front
panel board and the KSB2. You did install the 5.6K resistor between pins 1
and 6 of the mic connector did you not?
Other than a failure that involves a component or a bad connection, I can't
think of anything else at the moment that would cause your problem.

I am trying to iron out the wrinkles in my newly built K2. It has 160,SSB,
NB,AF, DSP,K2/100
The rig has plenty of output on CW but the best I can do SCREAMING into the
mic.is about 35 watts. Same holds true when I turn the power down and run
without the 100 PA. A 10 watt setting gives me about 3 or 4 watts A strong
whistle might make around 50 watts with theh K2/100
I am running a Heil MH2 desk mike and even have the SSBA setting at 3. I
have confirmed that I have 5 volts to pin one and voltages on U3 look pretty
decent. BTW, test are doing using a Daiwa PEP meter into a dummy load which
I have tested with other rigs.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Rich
