This could probably be answered with a query on the specialty reflectors
like Heath, Drake, Collins, etc. They seem to collect odd statistics
like that.

Never really thought about it before. Check me on this - is the notion here
that perhaps there have been (or may ultimately be) more K2's sold than any
other (or most other?, or kit other?, or something other?) US (made,
designed, "kitted," produced, ???) rigs for the amateur market? I include
"amateur market" since so many Collins rigs that were produced went directly
to the military. Hummm - wonder just how many KWM-2/2A's were produced
altogether. The M2 aside, wonder about Heath, Swan, Drake, Ten-Tec,
National, Davco (now who actually saw or owned a Davco receiver?) etc, etc.
And, how about those produced outside the US - like FT-101's etc.
Interesting line of inquiry - and quite a potential advertising advantage as
well as possibly pushing software designers to include the K2 as more than
just a "sort of" Kenwood software look-a-like! --don n4hh K2/100 #2028
