[Elecraft] Elecraft Net times??

Howdy Daniel,
As Mychael states: the net has been moving a bit recently. I've been trying to find a
time when 20 meters is open. This last Sunday I failed miserably. Two check ins? And
they were in opposite regions of the US. One in CT and the other HI!
When my life gets a bit more settled and I get a few more projects off my plate I will
post a website (or at least a page of one of my sites) for the Elecraft CW Net. Until
then please check the Elecraft Reflector. I try to post our meeting time and frequency
on Saturday. I have been holding the net on 20 meters now for a number of months.
I was running it twice, both on 40 and on 20 meters but I found 20 meters was the
most efficient place. Now I may need to reconsider. I have been thinking of 30 meters
but that cuts off the entire Eastern portion of the US (Mississippi and East). The time
for ECN has been constrained by contesting. I don't wish to interfere with them and
their fun so I start the net at 2400z or later. The last few weeks it has been 2400z.
The number of ops falls to nearly zero and then I start. The frequency has been at
14050 kHz or up if there is someone on 14050 when I start listening (5 minutes to the
hour).
I will get a web site up but using the Reflector has been most efficient. Eric said it
was OK for me to use the Reflector to post before and after reports as long as I don't
get too crazy. Now that I seem to be getting closer to the magic 20 wpm my sanity will
be like most others who run at or above that speed; in question :)
Please join us if you have an interest. I plan on offering a service to the group by
sending folks off frequency to exchange information if they ask. Mostly it has been a
method for me to get to know the band, get better at handling incoming calls, and to
check propagation. If you hear someone ask me to link you up and I'll send you up or
down to make contact. I think that would be fun. We do it all the time on NTS so why
not on ECN too? I hope to make it to the one year anniversary in June of 2004 with
the net in a healthy state by providing a service to the Elecraft community. Ideas and
comments always welcome.
