[Elecraft] Switched mode power supplies

A lot of chat on the reflector about switched mode power supplies, and 
also an earlier thread about wireless networks. So this might be of 
interest.

I noticed a strong broadband hash affecting both 40 and 80 metres. 
Guessing that it had to be computer generated, I tried to find the cause 
by switching off various pieces of equipment. I quickly found that the 
noise was coming from my wireless network access point. Further 
investigation showed that it was actually the 5V 2.0A wall-wart power 
supply for the access point that was the cause of the hash.

I found that Maplin sold one with the required output, so I took a 
gamble and ordered one. I'm now 18 quid poorer but hash free. On the 
plus side, I don't need to buy an Elecraft noise generator...
