[Elecraft] OT: getting shack on network

This is an off-topic question; I apologize.

I want to get my ham shack computer on my network.  My office has a 
tcp/ip network of 4 computers (Windows 2000, XP, 98, etc.) and is 
located at the other side of my house from my shack.  It would be a 
hassle to run a cable, since there isn't a common attic or underfloor area.

What I would like to do is create a wireless link:  get some kind of 
transceiver that I could plug into the hub in my office and a companion 
device that could connect to the Ethernet card in my shack computer.  I 
do not want to convert the whole system to a wireless network. 
Naturally, it's very important that there be good security, since it's 
going to be connected to my office system.

What do I need to get in order to do this?
