   It coulda been me.  I built #11, and it seemed to
work just fine - until I'd rotate the encoder shaft.
Then the signal would disapparate.  And I was so
careful!

   Well, at that point, Wayne (conveniently) needed
some rigs of that revision to measure, so I sent mine
in, and he found a "cold solder joint"  - I think it
was really a "non-solder joint" - on, I think, C38.
Needed a magnifying glass to find, because the hole
seemed filled, and, following the admonishment in the
manual, I wasn't leaving little volcanoes of solder,
just filling the holes and trimming the leads real
flush.

   The moral of this story, for me, is: next time, I
won't try to save time by stuffing four components at
a time, then carefully soldering and trimming all
leads. I'll do them one component at a time. 

   And I'll savor every one.
