The KX1 should have plenty of audio, although it is a lower current design so we
recommend headphones.
Your S-meter problem could be a clue that the audio really *is* too low. Please
check all of the DC voltages using the Troubleshooting section of the manual,
then check with support if necessary. Chances are you have a reversed component
or unsoldered connection.
