Personally, I find the A1394 tip to be the berries for just this type of
problem. It's .43" long and only 2.0mm O.D., so it will slip down between
just about any two components (without frying them, I might add) and allows
me to suck the solder from just about any PC board pad which would have
been quite impossible to access with a 'standard' tip.
The A1394 tip is a bit 'delicate' though... when I finish using it, I clean
it out and remove it from the 808 before I continue using the device. I'm
not admitting to having done such but, being only 2.0mm O.D. it can be bent
or broken if the user is a bit careless in how he handles it.
