In reference to the K3 wish list. Could we cut down on this. After all, the K2 is still a strong rig. Yes, it is missing some "features" but what is cool is that it is made in America by Americans. (I guess you could say he was designed by Americans and put together by everyone else; ie. Brits, Zealanders, Japanese, Israelis, and the list goes on.) Anyway, I built it. It is my achievement. It is my fun. But, I digress.///
Well, my point is this. I am extremely happy with the K2. Kudos to the guys at Aptos. I would think that Y,I,K would like to sell 3,500+ of any rig they make. I think the K2 has a long life ahead of it yet and I don't see any benefit in pushing the benefactors of our fun by designing something that may or may not sell. I want these guys around for a good long time. I do not want to see them go the way of Drake, Swan, Heathkit, Clegg, WRL, Knightkit (Anyone have an Ocean Hopper they would part with?), etc. They should be in control of the future and not us who seem to nip and yip at want we want. If I want all the bells and whistles, then I can buy a YIK. If I want to have fun and proud of something I have done, then I will take the Elecraft building route. The future should be in the hands of the founders of Elecraft and when they ask for "what would you like to see in a K3?," then the thunderous din of suggestions could follow.
That is my story and I am sticking with it.
