Hi Folks,

I almost always use a small surgical clamp to place in the braid of a RG-174
cable when I'm tinning  the ground to protect to prevent melting the
polypropylene (or whatever) insulation on the center conductor.  What you
get here if you're not careful is a nice, intermittent short that can blow
things right into vapor!  Then it gets sad and nasty.  Except for
exceptional circumstances of some kind, I have no other use for a clamp heat
sink.
