Keep your time with the iron on the joint down to 2 or 3 seconds and you
don't need to worry about putting heat sinks on components, Ron. With =
modern
boards and components like you have in the Elecraft kits, that's more =
than
enough to make a great solder joint.
I can remember keeping a tray of clips to put on leads so transistors =
would
survive the solder experience too <G>.
It is important to use an iron that doesn't get too hot, too, which is =
why
the TC irons are so strongly recommended.
