[Elecraft] Tinning toroids with a solder pot

I've been thinking of buying a solder pot to tin the leads on all the
toroids I'll have to make (K2, AATU, SSB, 160m etc etc). I'm happy with the
winding part but can't seem to get the tinning right using the blob of
solder method (admittedly using a fine solder tip). I considered the toroid
guy but decided against his offerings - I'll build the whole kit myself
dammit ;-) So would a solder pot help - ie make it as easy as possible to
tin the toroid leads - or am I kidding myself ?
