I have noted this on the reflector SEVERAL times, yet I continually read
posts to the effect that " after zero beating the signal he came back off
frequency," or " After zero beating WWV it was still off by +/- XX.X," etc.
Bottom line is your calibration will be off by at least as much as the side
tone inaccuracy if it is used for calibration.
The other phenomenon I have noted is that the "clock" must be slightly
faster than 4.000000 MHZ to get the most accurate readings on ALL bands.
Mine is about 4,000.005 KHz to get readings for WWV at 10 and 20 within 10
Hz. When set for 4,000.000 KHz WWV is off by more than 40 Hz at 20 and 20
Hz at 10. I think this is needed to allow for computer overhead.
