Thanks folks,
This weeks results for the Elecraft CW net were quite good.
On 20 meters, run at 14050 kHz this evening we had:
K7UP - John
W4ULY - Jim
N5GLR - Garry
KL7V/5 - Sam
WG4S - William
N5IB - Jim
VE2XL - Keith
W6JD - Doug
W1EUY - Dave
W0IFL - Ron
WA7SPY - Glenn
VE7CBU - John
12 participants is the most we have ever had for any of the nets. I know I missed a few because the conditions were weak for me. I flipped between my
antennas but could not get you all. K7UP, KL7V, and W1EUY acted as relays and got six more stations on board. Thanks for your help: John, Sam, and Dave!
Thank you for so many returns to the net as well as a number of new folks. I wasn't able to get all of your names but I will have them on my roster for the
next time I run it :) Only after checking on QRZ did I catch a few more repeat folks. My apologies go out to W4ULY (Jim) and WG4S (William). I missed the
fact that you had checked in before. I really need to get this list in order so I can find your names easily :(
On 40 meters, run at 7051.5 kHz the results were not as good:
K7UP - John
and
WK6F - Ken
were the only two check ins. As you can tell from the frequency I was trying to shoe horn in. It didn't work. We had at least two CW and two other voice
QSOs going on around us. I tried moving up but never found another spot. Which leads me to a question: Should I keep running the 40 meter net during this
part of the year? We are getting better at working around the US and Canada with the relay stations and get a good number of folks. Should I concentrate
on 20 meters and try 40 meters another time of the year? Should I stick with 20 meters and run it longer? Any suggestions are very welcome.
I am glad I got to run the net this evening. Last night Patricia, KD5PZO, and I ran communications at the Mist/Birkenfeld firestation for the Hood to Coast relay
race. We had only a few call outs of the paramedics. Mostly we had stuck vehicles and lots of bandaids. The weather was cool so the runners did not
dehydrate for the most part. Pat and I got a few hours of sleep before the event but from 10 PM until 10 AM were awake and working. We got home and
tried to get some sleep but it was mostly fitful. So you folks on ECN heard me while I was pretty tired. Sorry if I was uncopyable at times but I promise I will
have a good night's sleep for next week's fun filled Saturday evening Elecraft CW Net :)

Kevin. KD5ONS (Net Control Operator fifth class).
