I sounds like you installed R38 just a tiny bit too far back toward the =
rear
edge of the board. There are two sets of holes there... well, three =
sets,
really, if you start from the edge of the board, all almost lined up. D2 =
is
right at the back edge of the board, on the top.
Directly forward of D2 is the space for RFC2 on the bottom.=20
Directly forward of the pads for RFC2 is the space and pads for R38 on =
the
TOP.
I suspect you installed R39 in RFC2's holes.=20
I don't know if they changed the silk-screening since the boards for my =
ol'
S/N 1289 were made, but in mine the legend R38 is visible between D2 and =
the
resistor.=20
