first off, here is a great page to help get you started with RTTY:

yes, with a caution or two:

- as already noted, setting up your RTTY filters carefully will be important
to keep from shifting around; I tend to set one narrow filter and leave it
there however. For PSK31, most of the software expects you to be running
wide open, but in busy band conditions with a couple strong signals on the
band swamping your IF, going narrow can also be useful (this is true for any
rig).

- the K2/100 is not rated to run 100W on RTTY as is. The astonishingly
simple solution (suggested by other folks here) I have used is to simply lay
two medium size 12V muffin fans on top of the rig blowing down on the heat
sink. Keeps it cool even when calling CQ in a contest.

yes, the soundcard makes any DSP redundant, in my opinion.

>3. Do you recommend the KNB2 Noise Filter for digital modes?

can't hurt, might help, particularly for wide open PSK. I can't recall ever
turning on a NB for RTTY. It will definitely help with other modes WHEN you
have the kind of noise a noise blanker blanks!

>4. Any other comments are welcome.

You will be successful with the K2/100 on data modes - if you run into any
snags, this list will be your best friend!
