Good point, Michael...

If you can match WWV tones in two receivers, you can use CW mode and zero
beat with the SPOT tone and get the same result.

A significant number of ops have real trouble hearing the 'zero beat'. It's
sort of like "Where's Waldo?" for them but far more frustrating, especially
when people like me keep saying "It's easy, it's easy, it's EASY!"

Wayne addressed that issue by suggesting SSB USB/LSB comparisons.

An easy way to adjust the SSB voice signal on the K2:  If you have an AM
radio that will
pick up WWV, tune WWV in on both the K2 and the AM radio.  Match the pitch.
