Hi all,
I know we have some programming talent among our customers. Here's your chance
to get in on the fun at Elecraft ;)
We're looking for an accomplished Java/Javascript programmer. You'll work with
Jack Brindle, WA4FIB, the developer of our KRC2 programmable band
decoder/controller, to write two KRC2-related utilities.
The first will allow download of new KRC2 firmware via the PC's serial port.
(The right person for the job would be able to write something like this very quickly.)
The second will allow users of the KRC2 to set up an arbitrary mapping between
bands and relay driver outputs. Normally there's a 1:1 mapping between them. But
let's say you have a tri-band beam. In this case, you'd want one particular
relay driver to turn on when any of three bands are selected. This is an
alternative to wire-ORing the terminal strips inside the KRC2 itself.
The KRC2 firmware is very flexible and event-driven, so it can accommodate much
more interesting applications. Multi-rig/multi-antenna mapping, CW contest
keying, and full control or sequencing of the K2 are all possible. However,
these first two simple utilities are the most important and will form the basis
for any further development.
If you're interested in helping us unleash the full potential of the KRC2,
please contact Jack Brindle, and also copy Eric Swartz. (Both e-mail addresses
are cc'ed, above.)
73,
Wayne
