I didn't see anything on the back of the LCD (K2 #3430). The front of =
the
LCD was all scratched up. I took a little adhesive tape from the kit =
packing
materials, stuck it to the front of the LCD, and pulled it away, drawing =
away
a soft plastic protective film from the front of the LCD. There was =
still a
thin layer over the front of the LCD, but that is the polarizer, and =
must not
be touched. All the scratches were on the protective film.
I didn't see any marks on the back, and see no defects (lines) in the =
display
with the backlight turned on.
I did have a problem with the backlight. The front side has a diffuser.
Looks a bit like tyvek or some other white fiberous plastic. That is =
attached
to the water clear plate that makes up the bulk of the backlight. It is =
only
attached at the LEDs on mine, which are attached in turn to the plate.
Covering the diffuser was a protective film. This had buckled up
in the middle where some contaminant was between it and the diffuser.
I removed it and put it back, but couldn't get the original wrinkles
out. Rubbing it left scratches. When I put the LCD over it, it didn't =
fit
right because of the wrinkles. So (sinner that I am) I removed the =
front
protective film from the backlight, but left the front diffuser in =
place. With
the LCD soldered tight over the backlight, the diffuser will stay put =
and
stay clean.
The end result looks OK.
