My LCD did not have any protective film on the back either.  It did have 
one on front, which was very hard for my old eyes to see.  That made me 
wonder if I just couldn't see the one on back, but others have said they 
didn't have one on back either.  Anyway, I assumed I didn't have one on 
back and it looks like I was right.  I asked on the reflector one time 
if anyone had an LCD WITH a film on the back and didn't get a response, 
so I'm assuming there isn't one.  Hopefully, if there is, it would be 
very obvious.  

Do NOT remove anything from the diffuser!

By the way, I suggest you don't work on it when you are tired.  I forced 
myself to take 2 months to put mine together.  Besides stretching out 
the fun, I didn't make any stupid mistakes due to fatigue.  Good luck.
