John, what you want is easy. You build the K2 with KAT2 and KIO2. You then 
put a KAT100 and KPA100 in the EC2. You hook the KIO2 to the EC2's KPA100 
with the daisy chain Y-cable as specified for the KAT100 or KPA100. You 
then have the best of both worlds: a fully featured K2 QRP that you can 
disconnect two cables and take to the field and a fully featured QRO 
amp/tuner set-up. The AuxBus recognizes the presence of the KAT100 and 
disables the KAT2 when connected. When disconnected, the AuxBus only sees 
the KAT2. I have this setup exactly and it works perfectly. I also have a 
beta model KRC2 daisy chained in as well. You'll love it.   Joe K4AA
