I'll second this opinion, I have an ACOM 1000, it's easy to tune, Quiet 
(very quite!) does full QSK, well built and is well protected from operator 
abuse, over driving mistuning, wrong antenna etc.
Works great with the K2 and if you ever have to replace the 4cx800 tube it 
won't cost too much either.
