The extra cost to the K2 surely wouldn't be over a few dollars?

PS - K2/100 upgrade now alive and well. Biggest construction problem
was to avoid frying other nearby components with the big soldering
iron while soldering the transformer frames and transistor tabs.
Otherwise pretty much straight ahead.
I'm definitely going to remote mount it - I've already noticed the
narrow cw filters drifting due to the extra heat -- the signal I'm
copying gets very weak, presumably as it drifts out of the filter
passband.
