About the only practical thing would be use the K2 in CW mode as a driver
for a modulated final outboard.   Of course that does not take care of the
receiver detection where no AM envelope detector is provided.

You are better off using the K2 as intended as a CW and SSB rig (or digital
PSK 31) and get a conventional AM rig for the BA crowd.   Used Johnsons,
Heathkits of the DX 40 vintage, etc. turn up all the time at hamfests.
