Hi Ken,
Interesting that you should ask. I intended that the LO goes off whenever a
transverter was off line. The idea was to prevent any problem that a bunch
of unnecessary oscillator running might cause. However, Ron the manual
writer tells me that the oscillators remain on until the main power is
turned off. I'll check that out in the next day or so and report back to
you.
Aside from what it actually does at the present time, I think that it would
be a useful strapping option to allow the oscillators to continue to run
even if a transverter is off-line. That is especially so if the optional
crystal oven is installed. The next board rev will provide for that strap.
