Hi Tim,

Although it does not explicitly say so on page 17, I think that=
 an 
external DMM is required for this step in the KAT2 alignment.
I believe it is not possible to use the K2's DMM function during=
 TX.

If you have a newer K2 you could use the RF probe assembly that=
 came 
with the kit, or if not, I have an idea of what it comprises are=
 
somewhere on the Elecraft site. It is only a diode, cap and=
 resistor.

Connect the RF probe input across the 50 ohm dummy load and the 
output from the probe to the terminals of an external DMM
