You got it right Art. That's why it's warmer up North, even tough we are
further from the sun in our summer.

Hello, all.  I'm no scientific expert, either...

<...I asked him, "Why is it warmer in Summer?"  The response?  "Well, you
know, the earth is closer to the sun......, you know?"  (I think he was also
the basketball coach   ;-).

Actually, the earth is FURTHER from the sun during Summer in the Northern
Hemisphere, as I recall.  But this hemisphere is more often tilted toward
the Sun during our Summer days, as I recall.

Of course, it HAS been a few years, and YMMV...!
