A couple of questions and a comment:

1) The picture is captioned "5w BNC with ..." Do you have an ethernet
terminator that is rated for 5w, or are you saying that it can handle 5w
when it's heatsinked by the oil. I have a bunch of BNC ethernet
terminators, but they appear to be able to handle only a watt or less in
air.

2) Is the purpose of the extensions to get the terminator into the
middle of the jar so it will be surrounded by oil, or is there another
reason?

3) Comment: I'm surprised that the thermal conductivity of the small
interface between the terminator and the oil is good enough to allow you
to use it with your Jupiter!

This is a great idea if it is really practical, because the terminators
are very good (low-reactance) dummy loads! If I make one, however, it
will be in a metal can.
