A fishing pole offers quite a few options for a portable mast, the 22 foot
Shakespeare "Spear-lite" is both cheap and lightweight. They can be used as
ground planes, supports for end fed wires and of course supports for
doublets/dipoles. I often use a 66 foot doublet with 32 foot of 300 Ohm
ribbon fed via a 4:1 balun, it tunes 40/30/20/15 on a KAT1 and is "easy"
with the much better KAT2.
