[Elecraft] CT logging program (with a K2)?

I believe it would be easier to make a new hardware profile called
Contest. It's been a few years since I have done the profile thing,
but it's something like this ....
When you make the Contest profile it will be the same as the Default
hardware profile.
While using the contest profile, go into Device Manager and remove the
com ports and lpt ports.
When you reboot it should ask you which profile you want to use ....
select Contest.
Then run CT in a DOS window and it should allow CT to control the COM and
LPT ports to control the K2 and LPT will key the K2, and you can wire the
paddle into the LPT plug and use the PC as a keyer.

Hmm, this doesn't work
either. It does work in MSDOS mode. This is annoying because
my laptop's battery doesn't seem to charge properly in MSDOS mode!
Oh well, if anyone has any other ideas for making CT work under Windows
95, please let me know. I am only trying to get it to talk to the
K2 on the serial link at this point -- I haven't tested the parallel port
CW yet.
Thanks!

I have a suggestion for your ct /
k2 problem.
Ct is a dos mode program and as such, wants all the serial hardware to
itself.
Try this.
Edit your system.ini file.
Immediately following the
[386enh]
line insert the following line.
comxautoassign=0
where x refers to the number of your com port, 1, 2, 3, etc.
This tells windows not to take control of the com hardware.
I have to use this so that my serial speech synthesizer will work in
windows and a dos box simultaneously.
Hope this helps.
