That's a tough one, because there are several things I would do differently!
In no particular order:
- Set up the power supply and a dummy load first, so that when the rig is
ready to test, you're all set to go.
- Wind and tin all of the toroids ahead of time, taking extreme care with
each one. Some folks might want to wind all the toroids at once, while others
would do, say, one per assembly session. The main thing is to have the
toroids ready to go when they are called for in the assembly, so you don't
have to switch from "assembly mode" to "toroid wind mode" and back. (This is
just a personal preference, developed over years of homebrewing, but it works
for me to have all the components ready when the assembly starts).
- Get a digital camera and take lots of pictures as assembly progresses.
Enjoy the build! But be warned - building rigs often ruins people for the
manufactured stuff.
