>If there was one thing you would do differently after having experienced
your build, what would it be?

Let me tell you instead what I did that I think had the most positive impact
on my experience. I decided to take my time and enjoy the building
experience. I never worked on the K2 when I was too tired or not in the
right frame of mind. I read each instruction carefully and made sure I
understood it. I did a full inventory before I started (didn't find
anything missing) and organized all the parts using small containers for
some things and sticking resistors and caps into a styrofoam board, labeled
by part value (more recent kits may have these parts sorted for you). I
double checked all component values before inserting them in the board,
measuring values if I wasn't sure about the code on the part. I set aside a
place where I could work without having to worry about anyone disturbing my
parts between sessions. I read this reflector religiously and asked
questions here when I needed to, accepting that no question is too dumb,
even though I suspected some might be.

You'll get other suggestions, or can find them by searching the archives,
about what tools to use, and other stuff. But if you'll just take your time
and enjoy it, the Elecraft instruction manual will guarantee that you end up
with a really fine rig!

Have fun and good luck!
