Hi Ron,

didn't even think about using a bananaplug, I have a couple of very nice
spring-clamp ones, and will give them a try. The number of counterpoise
terminals/wire-ends will be limited on the E1 terminal, will try this out
too.

The place of venue is a waterfront restaurant on the NieuweWaterweg, the
stretch of saltwater between the port of Rotterdam and the Northsea.

It's a friendly cw-interrest group, but a lot of the hams are old Merchant
Navy radio officers and I want to be as prepared as I can (!)

If you can dress other wires away from the antenna jack, put a banana plug
on the end of your antenna wire and plug it directly into center of the
antenna output on the KAT100. Hook your counterpoise wires directly to the
case ground (E1) of the KAT100.

If you can, use a separate counterpoise cut to 1/4 wave for each band and if
space allows, two of each is even better. Problems with "RF on the rig" and
feedback have more to do with the quality of the RF ground you use than the
antenna or its location. Also, the quality of the RF ground will have a big
impact on how well the antenna radiates.
