Gentlemen:
I find myself in need of assistance. I built the K2 S/N 3100 and have =
added SSB mod, clock and audio filter, 160m board. Unit works =
flawlessly. !5 w out @13.8 volts and about 2.7 amps. =20
K2 100 meticulously assembled. No problems until page 44 in manual.Under =
SWR Bridge null adjustment, 7055 kHz, power set to five watts, antenna =
connected to SO239 on back of K2 100. Get "High Current", 4 amps; =
only 1 watt out. Power transistors in K2 get hot.
Temperature calibration step: no problem.
Under KPA100 Power supply step (p.45) , K2 off, K2 DC cable (KPA 100-J4) =
plugged into K2 Aux 12V input. Turning on high current power supply =
trips protective circuit in power supply (over current). If K2 DC cable =
unplugged from K2 Aux 12V input and high current supply turned on, no =
short and current drain from supply minimal.
All voltages and resistance measurements listed in tables are within =
limits specified. Initial tests (page 20) normal.
Afraid to proceed any further without your help. Don't want to smell =
any sizzling components. Look forward to your reply.
