I'm a software engineer by profession and our company (SuperH) has embraced
the 'open-source' ethos with alacrity (for the software, that is..).

The Elecraft style seems very similar. You make a charge only when you need
to. Profits are sufficient to make the business viable but are not
excessive. The enthusiasm of your customers makes them friends. It feels
good.
